JNR Shisha Storm 52K Review – Is Bigger Actually Better?

By: Lewina Sylvie

Vape critic. Chain puffer. Won’t fanboy unless it’s earned.

First Impressions – This Thing Looks Like a Fashion Accessory

I’ll be honest: when I first saw the JNR Shisha Storm 52K, my brain went “another oversized disposable trying too hard.” But then I held it.

The leather exterior isn’t some cheap printed vinyl. It’s got grip. Feels almost like a car steering wheel cover – in a good way. And the mouthpiece cap? Underrated. Most disposables collect pocket lint like it’s their job. This one clicks shut. Hygienic, practical, and makes you feel slightly less disgusting between puffs.

Size-wise: 41x135mm. Bigger than a standard 10K puff bar, but smaller than a power bank. Slides into a jeans back pocket fine. You’ll know it’s there, but it won’t rip your pocket seams.

The Numbers That (Actually) Matter

Spec What JNR Claims
E-liquid 45ml
Puffs Up to 52,000
Battery 1100mAh, Type-C
Nicotine 2% (20mg/ml)
Coil Triple mesh
Airflow Adjustable

45ml is ridiculous. Most “20K” devices give you 18-24ml. This is double. You’re not burning through this in a weekend unless you’re sharing with three friends.

The Real-World Testing (I Used It For Two Weeks Straight)

Flavor & Vapor Production – Triple Mesh Does Work

The triple mesh coil isn’t marketing fluff. Flavor stays consistent from puff 100 to puff 1,500. No burnt taste creeping in early, no weird chemical aftertaste.

Tested on Love 66 and Watermelon Ice (my usual litmus tests):

Love 66: floral, slightly spicy, stays clean without getting perfumy

Watermelon Ice: candy-like but not cloying, the ice hit is balanced – not a throat-killer

Clouds are dense. This is a DTL device – don’t try MTL pulls unless you like coughing. Wide open airflow gives you that shisha lounge vibe. Closed down halfway? Still airy, but warmer and more flavorful.

The 52K Puff Question – Realistic or Marketing Math?

Here’s my take after daily use.

I’m a heavy vaper – around 400-500 puffs/day. After 9 days, the juice meter dropped to about 65%. Math says I’ll land around 26-28 days total. That’s roughly 12,000-14,000 puffs for my draw length.

But JNR’s 52K number is based on 1-second puffs. I take 2.5-3 second pulls. So halve it. Realistic heavy-user estimate: 18,000-22,000 puffs. Still massive. Still beats most “20K” devices that die at 8K.

So yeah – it’s not 52K for me. But it’s also not a lie. It’s an industry number. And compared to the Shisha AirPush 20K (26ml, 1000mAh), the Storm 52K will easily outlast it by 2x.

Battery Life – Surprisingly Chill

1100mAh sounds small on paper. But for a disposable, it’s solid. I got a full day and a half of chain vaping before needing to charge. Type-C charges to 100% in about 70 minutes.

The animated screen isn’t just flashy – it shows battery percentage and juice level. No guessing. No “why is this suddenly weak?” moments.

The Sound Effect Feature – Silly or Genius?

Quick context: puff three times fast, and it toggles a vaping sound effect on/off. Think of a synthetic “inhale woosh” that plays when you pull.

I turned it on once, laughed, and turned it off. It’s gimmicky. But for parties or shisha lounge vibes? Some people will love it. My advice: keep it off for daily use, turn it on when you want to annoy your friends (or entertain them).

Airflow – Actually Adjustable, Actually Useful

The slide switch is on the bottom edge. Smooth resistance, not loose.

  • Fully open: Cloud city. Cool, airy, massive volume.
  • Halfway: My sweet spot. Flavor pops more, warmth increases, still DTL but more controlled.
  • Nearly closed: Still not MTL. Don’t bother if you want a tight cigarette draw. This ain’t that.

Compared to the AirPush 20K (which gives you “Norm 24W” and “Turbo 28W” modes but fixed airflow), the Storm wins for customization. The AirPush has cooling modes – gimmicky but fun. Storm has practical airflow control. I prefer practical.

Pros & Cons (No Fluff)

:white_check_mark: Pros

  • Tank-like juice capacity (45ml) – lasts weeks unless you’re a monster puffer
  • Flavor holds up – triple mesh does its job, no early burnout
  • Leather + mouthpiece cap – actually feels premium, actually keeps it clean
  • Screen is useful – battery + juice readouts, not just a flashing logo
  • Airflow control – gives you real DTL range
  • Sound toggle is optional – doesn’t force the gimmick on you

:cross_mark: Cons

  • 52K is inflated – real heavy-user puffs: ~18-22K. Still great, but manage expectations.
  • Bulky for a disposable – not pocket-friendly in tight jeans
  • No MTL option – restrictive lung only. MTL fans, look elsewhere.
  • Sound effect is low-quality – feels like a 2010 toy, not a 2025 vape
  • Only 2% nicotine – fine for most, but former heavy smokers might want 3-5%

Comparison Snapshot: Storm 52K vs AirPush 20K

Feature JNR Storm 52K VapePie AirPush 20K
Juice 45ml 26ml
Puffs (claimed) 52K 20K
Battery 1100mAh 1000mAh
Screen Animated (battery + juice) LED (power + juice)
Airflow Adjustable Fixed (wattage modes only)
Gimmick Sound toggle 6 cooling modes
Best for Flavor chasers, long trips Cooling fans, wattage tinkerers

Verdict: AirPush 20K wins on cooling variety. Storm wins on literally everything else – capacity, build quality, screen utility, airflow.

Who Is This For?

Buy this if:

  • You’re a DTL vaper who hates running out mid-day
  • You want one disposable to last a festival or vacation (no charging anxiety)
  • You appreciate build quality – leather, cap, solid weight
  • You’re tired of “20K” devices that die at 8K

Skip this if:

  • You prefer MTL / tight draws
  • You want the smallest possible device
  • You hate any device thicker than a standard bar
  • You need 5% nicotine

Final Rating (Out of 10)

Category Score
Build Quality 9/10
Flavor Consistency 8.5/10
Battery Life 8/10
Puff Accuracy (realistic) 7/10
Portability 6/10
Value ($15) 9/10

Overall: 8.3/10 – Highly Recommended for DTL users

Bottom Line – Lewina’s Last Word

The JNR Shisha Storm 52K isn’t perfect. The puff count is optimistic. The sound effect is silly. And it’s not small.

But for $15? You’re getting 45ml of juice, a leather body with a cap, a screen that actually helps, and flavor that doesn’t die after three days. That’s a steal.

If you want a disposable that feels less like trash and more like a tool, this is it. The AirPush is a party trick. The Storm is a workhorse with good taste.

Would I buy another one?

Already did. Love 66 and Mi Amor are in the mail.

Thanks for the review @OneSmoker! I have been curious about the Shisha Storm.

A couple of questions since you have hands-on experience:

  1. Flavor consistency — How does it hold up toward the end? I’ve noticed with some high-puff-count disposables, the flavor drops off significantly after ~60% battery. Does the Shisha Storm maintain its profile throughout?

  2. Airflow — The original JNR Big Mac was known for a fairly tight draw. Has Shisha Storm improved on that, or is it still more of an MTL experience?

  3. Battery performance — 52K puffs is a lot. Have you been able to test if the advertised puff count is realistic, or does it fall short like some other brands?

Would love to hear how it compares to the VAPEPIE MATRIX 50K if you have tried both. Those two seem to be the main competitors in this tier right now.
