How much nicotine is in a vape?
Nicotine Content in Traditional Cigarettes vs. E-Cigarettes
Traditional Cigarettes:
A typical cigarette contains approximately 0.8 to 1.2 mg of nicotine, of which about 0.5 to 1 mg is absorbed by the human body.
E-Liquid Nicotine Content:
If an e-liquid bottle is labeled as 3%, it means the liquid contains 30 mg of nicotine per milliliter (ml).
Equivalence:
1 ml of 3% nicotine e-liquid (30 mg of nicotine) is roughly equivalent to the nicotine content of 30 traditional cigarettes.
Disposable/Refillable Pod Systems:
Most pod-style e-cigarettes (vapes) now have a maximum nicotine strength of 2%. With a typical pod capacity of 25 ml, the total nicotine content in one pod is at most 50 mg (2% × 25 ml = 50 mg).
